Francisco Javier Martín Carrasco, President

In accordance with the bylaws, he holds the position of President for being the Director of the School of Civil Engineering of Madrid  since 2013.

PhD in Civil Engineering by Polytechnic University of Madrid and Bachelor of Law by UNED). He has been Teaching Assistant at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as Professor at UPM. From 2005 he was  the Deputy Director and Head of Studies of the School of Civil Engineering of Madrids, where he also coordinated the Joint Doctoral Program in Environmental Engineering by UPM-National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico.

Member of the Research Group “Hydroinformatics and Water Management” of the UPM, Mr. Francisco José Martín Carrasco has participated in 9 research projects in competitive calls (four of them within the National R&D Plan, two of them as principal investigator), and in 13 projects  with public entities . He has published 18 articles in scientific journals and has presented more than 20 papers in congresses.

Juan Ignacio Entrecanales Franco, Vice President

Grandson of Mr. José Entrecanales Ibarra and Vice President of ACCIONA S.A. since 2004. Industrial Engineer by Tufts University and Executive MBA by IE Business School. He is a member of numerous entities, among which are the Board of Directors of the Círculo de Empresarios, the Business Forum of the Social Council of the Carlos III University of Madrid, the Professional Council of ESADE, the Advisory Council of IE University and the Spanish Committee of Lloyd’s Register EMEA.

He is Vice President of the Con R Foundation (Forum of Socially Responsible Public Procurement) and patrons of several entities such as the Integra Foundation and the National Archaeological Museum.

He was Vice President of SEOPAN from 2006 to 2012 and Chairman of the Board of Mostostal Warsawa between 2001 and 2007, directing the expansion of ACCIONA Infrastructure in Poland.

Juan Entrecanales de Azcárate, Vocal

Son of Mr. José Entrecanales Ibarra and President of Honor of ACCIONA S.A. He is currently a Member of the High Consultative Council of Engineering of Spain, Trustee of the Spanish Geographical Foundation, Deputy of the Royal Diputación San Andrés de los Flamencos (Carlos de Antwerp Foundation) and President of the Juan Entrecanales De Azcárate Foundation.

In 2006 he received the Honorable Mention of the Official Association of Industrial Engineers of Madrid for his professional career and in 2010 the Puig Adam Medal awarded by the Foundation for the Promotion of Industrial Innovation of the Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineers of the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Madrid between 1976 and 1978, one of the founders of the Círculo de Empresarios in 1977 and Vice President of its Board of Directors for twelve years.

Juan Antonio Santamera Sánchez, Vocal

President of the Professional Association of Civil Engineers. PhD in Civil Engineering by the Polytechnic University of Madrid and Bachelor in Economics by UNED. He has been a Professor of Urban Planning in the School of Civil Engineering of Madrid since 1980. In 2005, he managed this center for the first time and is Director of several Masters.

Juan Antonio Santamera was awarded the Fernández de los Ríos Essay Prize of the Community of Madrid for his book “Recommendations for the design and urban road project”. In 1993, he obtained a mention in the urban planning section of the VIII Prizes for Urban Planning, Architecture and Public Works of the City of Madrid, for the Urban Development and Partial Plan project of the “Ensanche Villa de Vallecas”, carried out in collaboration with Fernando de Terán.
