A not-for-profit organization founded in 1999, linked to the Higher Technical School of Civil Engineering of Madrid, where José Entrecanales Ibarra was a full professor, the Foundation’s objective is to enhance the prestige of civil engineering as a tool that gives impetus to society and its development.
The ends pursued by the Foundation, as established in its articles of incorporation, are as follows:
- The contribution of funds to the Engineering School for improving the training of future civil engineers
- The organization of activities that enhance the prestige of civil engineering, civil engineers and the figure of José Entrecanales Ibarra
- The granting of prizes to the best doctoral dissertations in the fields of soil mechanics, rock mechanics and foundation technique
- The granting of scholarships to doctoral candidates for preparing dissertations in the previously cited fields
